+9.79 bu/ac using SB Armor17-K on Corn in Ohio
Overview
In Ohio a grower ran a trial of SoilBiotics SB Armor17-K on corn. The treated corn received four applications of SB Armor17-K — one in furrow and the remaining three via foliar spray. In addition to the planned control program, the control acres received two additional applications of fungicide. It was a dry growing season and by harvest the grower predicted 30% loss from drought. The SB Armor17-K acres still managed to yield 9.79 bushels an acre more than the control.

The Results
Yield Summary
+9.79 bushels/acre yield response
Key Findings
This trial has a +9.79 bu./acre yield response.
This field experienced a projected 30% yield loss due to drought. Due to yield variation challenges from drought, the zones were trimmed to a set number of harvest passes as a means to get the fairest trial look possible. The original trial locations resulted in a +13.31 bu./acre yield response.
The Flag Test study showed SB Armor17-K achieved better emergence. SB Armor17-K had 29 plants emerge within 133 GDU window compared to 27 for the control.
The control had two documented fungicide applications on June 26 and on August 7.
Summary
More inputs mean more costs. Not only did the corn treated with SB Armor17-K yield 9.79 bushels per acre more than the control acres but it also didn’t require additional inputs. For this Ohio grower, SB Armor17-K proved to support their ROI goals.

Products Used

SB Armor17-K
Applied via foliar spray, SB Armor17-K is a plant nutrient product that cultivates robust plants. Its formulation of 0-0-17 supports the plant with much needed potassium. SB Armor17-K aids photosynthesis and other key plant processes that lead to increased plant vigor, improving the plant’s ability to mitigate stress throughout the season.
